About this role: Our ideal candidate has a strong background in hardware development, design delivery and new product introduction; and has managed large multidisciplinary projects in the past. If you are passionate about organizing multiple project teams to develop quality products by following industry best practices in design principles and development processes, this role may be for you; especially if you also thrive when working with technical professionals in a fast-paced, quality-focused team. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to minimize risk through effective communication, and has a proven ability to motivate cross-functional teams to achieve exceptional performance. The selected candidate will work in the Program Management Office and directly report to the VP of Engineering. How you will make a difference: Motivate and manage the project teams to achieve the project objectives Work closely with the Product Manager through the formulation, initiation, execution, and closure of each project Manage documentation, project tracking, risk management, and interdependencies between the cross-functional teams participating in the project Establish baseline labour and expenses, including estimated material and contracting costs following the phase gate process Manage and report actual and forecast project labour and expenses throughout the project. Coordinate with supply chain, manufacturing and quality for new product introduction strategies and execution Produce status reports for all interested parties Communicate and manage critical milestones and timelines to the cross functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, and customer care Ensure the project team follows the phase-gate process Determine when to escalate issues and to whom Contribute to PMO structure and process improvements Key requirements and experience: BSc. or College degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering/Technology or equivalent Minimum of 8 years in project management role, mainly in product development projects with multi-function engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software,...etc.) Experienced with managing projects in all stages of the product life-cycle Skilled in MS Project & ERP software Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills Strong verbal and written communication skills, work well with diverse groups of people Strong understanding of manufacturing and supply-chain management concepts Experience in technological product development Proven ability to drive quality through rigorous project execution and various testing methodology Nice to Have: Robotics experience A passion for new product development Experience in managing autonomy software projects Familiarity with product certification processes Understanding of overseas contract management Experience with Oracle Primavera P6, Jira, and Confluence Experience in managing a large SW development projects especially with continuous delivery concept and agile methodologies
