Firmware Engineer

WakeCap Technologies Inc. is dedicated to inventing and designing seamless solutions to connect challenging environments to improve safety measures and productivity levels in the industrial sector. WakeCap provides a first-of-its-kind enterprise solution to overcome the challenges of digitizing field logistics in the construction sector. Ultimately, our mission is to disrupt the construction industry without disrupting the work.

At WakeCap, we have developed an IoT-based platform for construction companies to track workers, materials, and assets. We are currently in search of a passionate and energetic firmware engineer. Your primary focus will be on developing firmware based on Nordic nRF52 series devices.

Role
Design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of firmware for hardware products.

Job Responsibilities

Understand and evaluate product requirements and develop firmware for the product
Perform testing to validate new product design and features
Continuous improvement of firmware to make it more robust, efficient, and optimized
Collaborate with other teams for design/testing of new features and debugging issues
Provide support and debug issues reported in deployed networks
Study and research on new product features and technical feasibility/limitation
Create processes and develop best practices for streamlining the firmware development process
Assess and adopt new technologies to improve product features, performance, and internal processes
Maintain documentation of content such as firmware features and capabilities, test reports, research study.
Work on different IoT technologies that can help achieve Wakecap's mission

Required Skills

Knowledge of Embedded C and Python
Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets(preferably ARM processors)
Must know ARM fundamentals
Knowledge of communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, and wireless protocols such as Bluetooth
Familiarity with a real-time operating system (preferrable Zephyr)
Familiarity with defect tracking/project management tools, version control systems, and code review process
Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
