BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST

Position Overview Particle is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst to build and maintain the visualization layer of our internal data analytics ecosystem. You’ll be charged with making the data in our back end systems accessible to various internal stakeholders. Particle provides an all-in-one Internet of Things (IoT) platform that includes microcontroller-based hardware, an embedded Device OS, cellular connectivity, and cloud platform as a part of a single managed service for creators of connected products. Because of this unique fully integrated approach, we’re able to make building and deploying IoT products much simpler than any other solution in the market. This approach also provides us with unique visibility into all stages of the IoT development lifecycle from early prototyping (hardware dev kit purchases) to application development (successful OTA firmware flashes) through full scale deployments (volume purchasing, provisioning, and global activation). This data is full of insights regarding the challenges of building and deploying IoT products that we seek to better understand in order to help make our current and future customers even more successful. As a Business Intelligence Analyst you’ll work within our Security, IT and Data Engineering team to communicate with a wide variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders to present this data in a manner that allows Particle to gain valuable insights. You will: Build and maintain dashboards and other visualizations. Work with data engineers to ensure that data in our data warehouse is the correct type and shape for visualization purposes. Solve hard problems by owning the end-to-end BI analytical process, from intake to solution development. Ensure that data visualizations are maintained and improved as needed. Operate our internal BI platform with the rigor and sophistication of any external SaaS product. Experiment, and answer questions no one knew they should be asking. You: Are fluent in analytic tools such as Mode and Tableau. Feel comfortable using your own initiative to solve problems and connect disparate systems. Have some experience with Ruby, Node.js, Python or similar scripting language.
