About the Role
This position will work closely with our customer’s technical teams to design and guide innovative solutions on top of the Opentrons platform. Ultimately aiding scientists in discovering, building, and running their own automated experiments. You’ll partner with some of the most innovative life sciences teams in the world.
As one of the first folks focused on implementing solutions for some of our more strategic customers, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape how things get done and have a meaningful impact on the evolution of the platform.
Collaborate with key customers and act as the strategic technical advisor. You’ll identify business and technical requirements, architect deployable solutions, then facilitate and deliver.
Collaborate with the rest of the software and hardware engineering team to ensure the features and services we build help resolve specific customer scenarios to guide future deployments that drive product usage at scale.
Partner with product management to establish key processes for evaluating requirements and priorities of customer-ideated platform enhancements.
Understand and contribute to the full breadth of Opentrons APIs to inform the requirements of a robust developer platform.
3+ years experience in a customer facing technical role.
Technical proficiency in designing, building, implementing and deploying scalable, highly available systems.
Strong software engineering skills and fundamentals.
Excitement to work in a multi-disciplinary team and with scientists around the world.
Experience using test-driven development approaches to create and enhance applications.
Interest in biotech and an eagerness to learn.
Contributions or active maintenance of open-source software.
Biology and/or lab experience.
