Truck loading and unloading is one of the least glamorous but most essential parts of modern logistics – strenuous, repetitive, and done in all conditions. It’s also one of the next major frontiers for automation.

Amazon has acquired SOSV and HAX portfolio company Rightbot, an AI-driven robotics startup specializing in fully autonomous, suction-based systems that can unload trailers, containers, and trucks at remarkable speed.

The acquisition brings Rightbot under Amazon’s Robotics Delivery and Packaging Innovation (RDPI) team, where its technology is expected to boost warehouse efficiency and improve worker safety.
