RAC (Robotic Actuators Company) is building a scalable mobile robot platform powered by a battery-electric Digital Hydraulic Transmission (DHT) that targets electric-like efficiency with hydraulic-class power density. The system reduces reliance on rare-earth magnets and a China-centered electric actuator supply chain, aiming to improve automation ROI through higher payload, longer runtime, and lower cost in mid-payload (100–500 kg) mobile robots.
The company has progressed to a functioning integrated prototype (TRL 4) with >$100k spent and is advancing toward a full-scale DHT and TRL 6 validation, with a roadmap focused on validating full-scale specs, signing pilots (LOI/MoU), and completing IP milestones (patent/FTO).
